UGC asks academics to avoid Predatory Journals.
University Grants Commission (UGC) has taken strong note on ensuring academic integrity, and said that any publication in predatory or dubious journals or presentations in such conferences should not be considered for giving academic degrees.
The UGC also advised that academics must not get associated as editors, advisors or in any other capacity, with journals, conferences involved in fraudulent practices.
Research publication only from journals indexed in UGC-CARE (Consortium for Academic and Research Ethics) list should be used for all academic purposes, with immediate effect, the UGC said
UGC has launched a “Consortium of Academic and Research Ethics” (CARE) to “identify, continuously monitor and maintain” UGC-CARE Reference List of Quality Journals across disciplines. This new list of approved journals will be available at newly launched website CLICK HERE
UGC secretary Rajnish Jain has issued the notification for the same. He asked them to avoid publishing in predatory/dubious publications and not to consider any publication which comes out in a dubious journal.
