The Advanced Criminal Law Studies Committee, School of Law, Christ (Deemed to be University) is hosting the 6th edition of its annual flagship event, National Trial Advocacy and Judgment Writing Competition (NTAC) from 29th January 2021 to 31st January 2021.

About School of Law, CHRIST

School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bangalore, was founded and is administered by Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI). In 2004 and 2016, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) held the top grade ‘A’ in the 4-point scale. In four decades, the institution has become the most preferred educational institution in the city. SLCU entered the list of top law schools in India according to the NIRF Rankings declared by the MHRD in 2020.

About the Competition

In the previous editions, NTAC has witnessed participants from law schools across the country and has successfully contributed to the promotion of a trial culture and criminal litigation. NTAC prides itself for being a one of a kind trial experience which helps in honing one’s research skills, and overall prowess of courtroom etiquette.

Eligibility

The Competition is open for all students who are pursuing a three-year or five-year Law Degree Course in Universities/Colleges/Law Departments in India, as recognized by the Bar Council of India. Participants should send a picture of their University ID Card for verification.

Registration Procedure

The participation in the 6th SLCU National Trial Advocacy and Judgment Writing Competition is restricted to 40 teams only. Institutions/Teams interested in participating in the Competition will have to provisionally register by sending an email on criminallaw.committee@law.christuniversity.in and only after confirmation of provisional slot by the Organizers, should they complete the formalities of the final registration. The slots shall be reserved based on a ‘first come’ basis for the first 40 teams.

The teams through their respective Official College Email ID or any other recognized student association Email ID. Once the teams have provisionally registered then the teams will be sent a confirmation mail providing them the link for the Final Registration.

Only the teams who have received confirmation of provisional registration after receiving an email from the Committee must submit the registration form. Kindly note that only one team per College/Institution/University shall be permitted to take part in the Competition. The last date for provisional registration shall be 25th December 2020. The main invite shall be made available only to those teams that pre-register with the organizing committee.

Venue

The 6th National Trial Advocacy and Judgment Writing Competition 2020 – 21 shall be held, from 29th January 2021 to 31st January 2021. It will be held on CISCO WebEx.
