  1. Details about the event/opportunity:

The Main Theme of the Conference: ‘Criminal Justice Systems in South Asia: Legal Framework, Contemporary Issues and A Way Forward’

The police, prosecution, judiciary, and prison administration are the four organs of the Criminal Justice System. The faulty investigation, biased prosecution, delayed justice, and non-efficient implementation of reformative policies are some of the basic reasons indicating the failure of criminal justice in South Asian Countries, which indicates the urgent need of revamping Criminal Justice Systems. Changing dimension of crime and globalization of crime in modern time has posed a serious challenge before present criminal justice at the level of investigation, prosecution, and infliction of punishment.

Protecting people from external aggression and internal disturbance is the prime responsibility of the modern state. The Criminal Justice Administration is the instrumentality in the hands of the state to protect its own people from internal disturbances. Prevention of crime and punishment of wrongdoers is the basic function of the Criminal Justice System. The Criminal Justice System in South Asian Countries is not able to work as expected, so people are losing faith in the system. Internal security and external security have direct nexus. If the criminal Justice System is not efficient then it will work as a hurdle in the development of any country.
