What Is The University Of Delhi?

What Are The Details Of The Opportunity?
- Eligibility for Ph.D. in Law:
- LL.M. degree from an Indian University with at least 55% marks in aggregate (or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7 point scale or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed); or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions.
- A relaxation of 5% of marks from 55% to 50% or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy-layer)/differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the University Grants Commission from time to time, or for those who obtained their Master’s degree prior to September 19, 1991. The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system if followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible based only on the qualifying marks without including the grace mark procedures.
- Candidates with LL.M. or equivalent degree must appear in a written entrance exam conducted by the University of Delhi in order to be eligible for an interview. Based on the performance in the written test, which is the qualifying exam, the shortlisted candidates shall appear for an interview.
- Candidate who have qualified UGC-NET (including JRF)/ UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF/DBT-JRF, ICMR-JRF, DST-INSPIRE or equivalent national level examination/fellowship (as identified by DRC)/GATE/teacher fellowship holder, and teachers who are in service of the University of Delhi may directly appear for an interview, provided they have registered themselves on the Ph.D. Online Admission Portal.
- No candidate shall be eligible to register for the Ph.D. programme if he/she is already registered for any full-time programme of study in any University/Institution.

- Phase I
- Important Instructions:
- In Phase I, only the candidates who are eligible on the basis of qualifying UGC-NET (including JRF)/ UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/ AYUSH-NET/DBT-JRF, ICMR-JRF, DST-INSPIRE or equivalent national level examination/fellowship (as identified by DRC)/ GATE/ teacher fellowship holders and others (as per Ordinance VI, Notification: Amendments to Ordinances dated 09th August, 2017 and its Amendments approved by the Executive Council in its meeting held on 01-02.07.2019) will be able to apply.
- In Phase II, all eligible candidates will be able to apply. However, candidates who become eligible on the basis of appearing in the entrance test will be shortlisted for interviews after the declaration of the result of the entrance test.
- The scores of the entrance test will be valid only for the admissions of the current academic year.
- On the recommendation of DRC and BRS, the Departments may hold interviews more than one time in an academic year of give equal opportunities to all eligible candidates to appear for the interviews, as per the Ordinance VI and its Amendments. The departments shall declare the seats accordingly, on the recommendation of DRC and BRS.
- Admission to all Ph.D. Programs is done online through the University’s portal by CLICK HERE interview is mandatory for all Candidates.
- Teachers & non-teaching staff, who are in the service of University of Delhi may directly appear for an interview. Theses will be supernumerary seats.
- Seats mentioned in the Ph.D. Bulletin of Information 2023-24 may vary
- . Registration Fee: Registration fee (non-refundable) for Ph.D. program is:
- SC/ST/PwBD: Rs. 300.00 (Rupees Three Hundred Only) per program
- UR/ EWS/ OBC-NCL: Rs. 750.00 (Rupees Seven Hundred Fifty Hundred Only) per program
