Supreme Court gets Four New Judges; now SC has full sanctioned strength of Judges i.e 31.
Four New Judges were appointed to the Supreme Court Wednesday, raising their number to 31, the full sanctioned strength. The four appointed are Justice Aniruddha Bose, Justice A S Bopanna, Justice B R Gavai and Justice Surya Kant.
The Centre has cleared Four names recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium for elevation as judges of the Supreme court.
With their appointment, the Supreme Court will reach its full sanctioned judicial strength of 31 judges.
As of now, the apex court is functioning with 27 judges. The sanctioned strength is 31, including the Chief Justice.
In the recent past, this is for the first time that the Supreme Court will have a full sanctioned strength.
