Sir Syed National Law Fest, 2020 by Aligarh Muslim University: Registrations open

About the Institution

Aligarh Muslim University Centre Malappuram is one of the most prominent educational centres of the Aligarh Muslim University situated in Malappuram district of Kerela. It was established in 2010 by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Central Government of India.

As of now there are a total of three departments functioning namely, Department of Law, Department of Business Administration and Department of Education. The campus has all the facilities approved by the governmental bodies like NCTE and BCI. The centre also has well established bodies like Law Society, Women’s Cell, Legal Aid Cell etc. Like the mother centre, every year, the AMU centre Malappuram also celebrates Sir Syed Day on 17th of October with great enthusiasm and ecstasy.

About the event

The Law Society, Department of Law, AMU Centre Malappuram is hosting its first virtual ‘SIR SYED NATIONAL LAW FEST’ to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sir Syed, the founding father of the institution.

Four of the following events shall be conducted, namely

1. National Law Quiz Competition

2. All India Sir Syed Essay Writing Competition

3. National Debate Competition, ’Discourse 2k20’

4. National Case Commentary Competition

Eligibility

The National Law Quiz Competition and National Case Commentary Competition is open to all the students pursuing 3 years or 5 years law course from any recognized institution while the other two are open to all the students pursuing undergraduate courses from any institution in any discipline.

Location

Since the fest is a virtual fest, it will be conducted through various platforms online.

It is mandatory for all the students to upload their recent student ID card in the registration form.

Fee details

There are no registration fees for any of the events.

Submission process

1. National Essay Writing Competition:

Submission of Essays shall be done via email, send us your writing at essaywritingsubmission@gmail.com.

The last date of Submission is 11th October, 2020.

 2. National Debate Competition ‘Discourse 2k20’

Record a 5 minutes video on any one of the given topics and upload it on drive/YouTube along with pasting the video link in the video submission Google form which would be provided later on.

The last date of Submission is 11th October, 2020.

3. National Case Commentary Competition

Submission of Case Commentary shall be done via email, send us your writing at submission.lawfestamumc@gmail.com

The last date of Submission is 11th October, 2020

Prizes

Prizes and Certificates of merit will be awarded to the Winner, 1st Runner Up and 2nd Runner Up of the Debate competition. E-certificate of Participation shall be given to all the participants.

Deadline

The last date for the registration of Law Quiz is 02nd October 2020, while for the other three events the last date to register is 06th October, 2020
