Prof.(Dr.) Ashok Ramappa Patil Has Appointed As The Vice-Chancellor Of The National University Of Study And Research In Law (NUSRL), Ranchi.

On 10th June 2023 (Saturday), Hon’ble Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court cum Chancellor of National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi appointed Prof.(Dr.) Ashok Ramappa Patil who has taken charge as Vice Chancellor of NUSRL Ranchi by succeeding Prof. (Dr.) Kesava Rao Vurrakula.

Dr. Ashok Ramappa Patil is a Professor of Law and a formar Chair of Consumer Law and Practice, (Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Government of India) Coordinator, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), and NIRF at NLSIU Bengaluru. He is a Founder Director of Online Consumer Mediation Center (Min of Consumer Affairs, Government of India. In 2010, he has received Asian Law Institute’s Fellowship (ASLI) and visited National University of Singapore for research in Consumer Protection Issue. He has done his B.Sc. (Criminology & Forensic Science) in1993, BA LLB in 1996, LLM (Mercantile Law) in 1998 & Ph.D. in Consumer Laws in 2006.

Prof. Patil has published more than 8 articles in International Journal; more than 42 articles in National Journal and more than six books. During his academic tenure he visited more than 15 countries & presented more than 30 research papers at the International level and more than 58 at National level Conference Seminars. He has organized more than 41 training programs/workshops for Non-Governmental Organization, consumer forum members, Government & Private Lawyers, consumer club teachers and others.

He has received the University Grants Commission’s FIP Fellowship in 2005 &  ASIAN LAW INSTITUTE’S FELLOWSHIP in 2010 (ASLI) and visited National University of Singapore for research in Consumer Protection Issues. He has also awarded at Cape Town, South Africa as a Faculty Coordinator to Legal Service Clinic and received ‘International Mac Jannet Award’ in 2014 & the prestigious National Award “LEGAL EDUCATION INNOVATION AWARD-2013” awarded by Society of Indian Law Firms (SILF) and Menon Institute for Legal Advocacy and Training (MILAT) (Prof. Madhava Menon).
