About the organiser

O.P. Jindal Global University is a Private university located at Sonipat, Haryana, India. It was established in 2009 as a philanthropic initiative of its founding chancellor, Naveen Jindal in memory of his father, O.P. Jindal.

In 2009, JGU began its first academic session with the establishment of India’s first global law school. JGLS is committed to providing global legal education to its students.

About the moot

Jindal Global Law School is organising the 1st JGLS Antitrust Law Moot Court Competition 2019.

The first edition of the JGLS Antitrust Law Moot Court Competition, 2019 is being organized in association with Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. and will be dealing with pertinent antitrust law issues in India and worldwide.

The competition provides students with the opportunity to interact with legal professionals and practitioners in the field of Antitrust law from Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. and other institutions, who will be adjudicating the oral rounds at the competition. Members of the Finalist Teams and Best Speakers at the Competition shall be awarded an internship with Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co.

The oral rounds of the competition are scheduled to be held from 6th to 8th September 2019 at O.P. Jindal Global University, Sonipat, Haryana

Team size and other information

In case of more than 20 teams sending their memorials, qualification to the oral rounds will be subject to a memorial qualifier, the results for which will be released on 15th August 2019.

Registration Procedure

Registrations for the Moot have already begun. Kindly fill out this Google Form. The deadline for registration is 15th June 2019. Universities/institutions are required to provisionally register on or before the deadline, even if the team members have not been finalized.

Fee Details

Registration fee is Rs. 5000 per team, which is non-refundable. Additional details of the prize structure, competition rules and regulations and will be released to teams upon registration.

  1. Release of Moot Proposition: 25th June 2019
  2. Deadline for submitting clarifications: 15th July 2019
  3. Release of clarifications: 20th July 2019
  4. Deadline for submission of Moot Memorial: 10th August 2019*
  5. Oral rounds: 6th – 8th September 2019
