Symbiosis Law School, Pune is organizing the “Juristas-International Law Essay Competition 2022”. 
This competition aims to promote research and knowledge creation in the field of international
law.

Eligibility Criteria.

  • All Undergraduate and Postgraduate Law Students enrolled in any Indian or foreign institution are eligible to participate.
  • Co-authorship is permitted, however it is limited to a maximum of two people per essay.

Submission Requirements

  • All entries must be typed in Times New Roman, size 12, with a 1.5 line spacing.
  • The essay should be between 4500 and 6500 words in length, including all footnotes.
  • The essay must include a 250-word abstract that will not be counted against the word limit.
  • Footnote citations should be in Times New Roman, size 10, and single line spacing in all entries.
  • The footnote should be formatted according to the Harvard Blue Book, 20th Edition’s citation system.
  • It is not authorised to utilise endnotes or other citation methods.
  • A cover page with the author’s name, institutional affiliation, course and year of study, e-mail address, postal address, and phone number should be included with all submissions.
  • Any identifying information should not be mentioned in the essay text, and any breach of this rule will result in automatic disqualification. The paper must be the authors’ original and unpublished work. T
  • he article should not be in the process of being published or entered into a competition.
  • Plagiarism of any kind will result in automatic disqualification.
  • Plagiarism of up to 10% would be acceptable. The organisers reserve the right to reject entries that do not follow the rules outlined above.
  • Essays will be reviewed by a distinguished panel of impartial Judges and Academicians. Essays will be judged anonymously. The Essays once submitted will be the sole intellectual property of Symbiosis Law School, Pune

Submission Procedure

  • Send the soft copy of the essay to ilsaessay@symlaw.ac.in with the subject of the email written as “JURISTAS 2022“
  • The participants must attach an attested copy of their students Identity Card along with the essay.
  • The deadline for the submission of entries is March 31, 2022.
  • All the submitted entries shall be forwarded for ranking, to a panel of eminent experts in the field of International Law. 

Fees for Registration
There is no cost to register.

Awards
The winners of the first, second, and third places, respectively, will receive cash prizes and certificates.

  • 15,000 rupees for first place
  • Prize money for second place is Rs. 10,000.
  • 5,000 rupees for third place
  • In addition, all participants will get participation certificates.
