Shankarrao Chavan Law College was established in 2003 with the objective of nurturing future legal professionals and researchers with ideas and values required for playing a constructive role to create a better world. The College is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, Approved by Bar Council of India, recognized by Government of Maharashtra with an ISO Certification and accredited with ‘A’ Grade by NAAC.

About Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies:

Law is a dynamic concept which has nexus with other disciplines of knowledge. From contemporary point of view and holistic approach, it has become significant to understand concept of law along with other disciplines of knowledge. Therefore, interdisciplinary-multidisciplinary and cross-disciplinary research has got vital importance in academics. National Education Policy 2020 emphasises on holistic and multidisciplinary education in higher education institutes. On this backdrop Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies (CIS) is an idea of exploring the nexus between law and other disciplines. It aims at studying and understanding the interconnections between law and other disciplines. It also aims at conducting research regarding various interdisciplinary studies.

About Jidnyasa 2022:

We are happy to announce innovative event of our institution (through our Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies) “Jidnyasa 2022- Bridge Course on Mahabharata and Law”. It is the unique combination of our culture and academics which consists narration of Mahabharata in local language-Marathi and publication of edited book on “Mahabharata and Law” in English. Thus, this event is bilingual and therefore brochure of the event is in both languages Marathi and English. The event is open for all students, researchers, academicians and all interested people from all faculties. So, anyone can participate in Jidnyasa 2022 who is keen to know the detailed narration of Mahabharata and also, one can contribute as an author in edited book. The themes for Jidnyasa 2022 are: Introduction to MahabharataKanikniti, Vidurniti and Krishnaniti. For detailed information, brochure is attached herewith.
