The Centre for Research and Innovation (CRI) of Geeta Institute of Law (GIL) under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) DharmenderPatial, Dean, Geeta Institute of Law, Panipat, Delhi-NCR undeniably, takes into consideration the foundational facets of research and strives towards achieving excellence in the overall implementation of these core aspects which are of utmost importance to any discipline – be it social sciences or natural sciences. It is for this purpose that Geeta Institute of Law, since its inception in 2007, has been promoting this very idea of research & innovation amongst those who are involved with the scholarship of research.
ABOUT THE COMPETITION
Fool me once it’s my mistake fool me twice you are a good lawyer! To be a good lawyer one needs to be acquainted with legal knowledge but using that knowledge to convince that people are wrong even if they are right is what makes the best lawyer. In this competition the advocacy skill of participants will be tested. The participants have to give a dissenting opinion on a case law that has been already decided by The Supreme Court of India and convince the audience that what they are saying is right.
RULES OF COMPETITION
- Students enrolled in 5 years integrated law programme and 3 years law programme are eligible to apply for this event.
- The students will be given a google form to register. They have to fill up their 3 preferences of any latest and landmark judgment decided by The Supreme Court of India.
- One out of the 3 cases will be confirmed for each participant.
- Each participant will get 3-5 minutes of time to speak about their dissenting view on the judgment of that particular case.
- The participants will be judged on the basis of legal research, communication skills, and convincing power.
MODE OF COMPETITION
For Non-GIL students, the Competition shall be conducted in HYBRID MODE and for GIL students, the Competition shall be conducted in the offline mode at Geeta Institute of Law.
