What Is NLUJ-CLS?

Corporate Law Society (CLS) was founded in 2014 with the primary objective of providing a platform to foster discussions and debate on issues of corporate law and related topics, inculcate an interest in the subject and allow students to gain a practitioner’s perspective. This is facilitated by inviting our eminent alumni to deliver lectures on developments and emerging trends in the realm of corporate law and related areas. We also hold our flagship event, the Essay Competition, which provides a platform for students from Universities of Law all across the country to contribute to the corporate law academia and to forward the discourse on the subject-matter.

National Law University, Jodhpur is an institution of national prominence established under the National Law University, Jodhpur Act, 1999 by Rajasthan State Legislation. The University is established for the advancement of learning, teaching, research and diffusion of knowledge in the field of law.

An epitome of excellence and diligence, Ms. Pranita Mehta was an outstanding student of NLUJ (Batch of 2017). She had been a part of the CLS since its inception and was associated with the Society as an Advisor in 2016. In addition to leading a formidable academic career both at school and university, she was second to none when it came to extracurricular activities. Throughout her time in NLUJ, Pranita performed exceptionally well in her academic endeavours as well as at various international moot court competitions. Pranita, a corporate law enthusiast, was also amongst the first ones in her batch to get recruited by one of India’s Tier-1 law firms. She personified not just the ideal student but also embodied the right mix of charm and cheerfulness. Also known as a dynamic all-rounder, Pranita touched everyone’s lives by becoming a major source of inspiration and delight.
