The Centre for Sports Law (CSL) is a constituent unit and specialized research centre of the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies. Since its establishment, CSL has actively undertaken various initiatives to provide a platform for law students and young legal professionals to address contemporary issues prevalent in the growing sports industry. Through this, CSL hopes to encourage dialogue, debate, and discussion (3D’s) on the issues and policies in sports law.
The Centre For Sports Law, UPES presents the 1st Edition of NATIONAL SPORTS LAW QUIZ COMPETITION integrated into the esteemed VIDHIUTSAV, the annual law fest hosted by the School of Law, UPES. The competition will take place in HYBRID mode

- Commencement of Registration: 24th January, 24
- Last Date for Final Registration: 20th February, 24
- Preliminary Round – Virtual Mode: 18th March, 24
- Declaration of Results for the Final Round: 23rd March, 24
- Final Round 07th April, 24
- Valedictory Ceremony 07th April, 24
- Mode: Hybrid mode
- Topics: The participants will be tested on the following topics:
- Role of State in Regulating Sports
- Gender Inequality in Sports
- Doping in Sports
- Sports as Business – Sports Leagues, Image Rights & IPRs
- Betting & Gambling in Sports
- Contractual Concerns in Sports
- Sports Injury & Liability vis-à-vis Tort Law
- Dispute Resolution in Sports
- Any other theme related to Sports.
- Awards:
- Winning Team Award: Cash prize of INR 12,000 + Certificate of Merit
- Runners-Up Team Award: Cash prize of INR 7,000 + Certificate of Merit
- 2nd Runners-Up Team Award: Cash prize of INR 4,000 + Certificate of Mer
- All participating teams will be provided with a certificate of participation or a certificate of merit in accordance with the performance of the team.
