About the Seminar

The Centre for Comparative Constitutional Law & Administrative Law and the Constitutional Law Society at National Law University Jodhpur are delighted to announce a joint initiative – a National Seminar titled ‘Constitutionalism in Contemporary Times’ to be held at NLU Jodhpur on 7th September, 2024.

The abstract submission deadline for the conference is 20th June, 2024. With the success of the previous two editions of the national seminar, we are delighted to conduct the seminar on our campus this year.

What Are The Details Of The Opportunity?

  • Themes: Authors are invited to submit papers exploring a range of broad themes specified below, encompassing not only the Indian context but also comparative perspectives.
  • Governance, Electoral Processes, and Civic Engagement
  • Constitutionalism in the age of Technology
  • Evolving contours of Judicial Review
  • Constitutional protection to minorities
  • Submission Guidelines:
  • Participants are encouraged to submit abstracts that reflect the core argument of the paper in clear terms along with a tentative trajectory of the paper, with a maximum of two authors per submission.
  • The abstract shall be within 300 words. At least five keywords must be highlighted.
  • The abstract shall contain the names, email addresses and designations of the authors.
  • Formatting guidelines: Font: Garamond; Font Size: 12; Alignment: Justified; Line space: 1.5.
  • Eligibility Criteria and Fee Structure: The seminar will be open to all UG, LLM & PhD students, academics and practitioners. Upon acceptance of the abstract submitted, participants will be required to pay a non-refundable fee as specified below:
  • UG, LLM & PhD Students: Rs. 3000
  • Academics & Practitioners: Rs. 4500
  • NOTE: Please note that the registration fee covers accommodation for two days and lunch, dinner & high tea for the day of the event and stationery provided on the day of the seminar. Further, co-authors are required to pay the registration fee separately.
  • Important Dates:
  • Release of Themes and Call for Abstracts: May, 2024
  • Deadline for abstract submissions: June 20, 2024
  • Announcement of accepted abstracts: June 24, 2024
  • Deadline for Manuscript Rough Draft Submission: August 12, 2024
  • Deadline for Final Manuscript Submission: August 26, 2024
  • Seminar and Paper Presentation: September 7, 2024
  • Prizes:
  • A Certificate of Participation shall be provided to all the paper presenters and participants.
  • Select few articles may be published in a ‘Special Issue’ of the Comparative Constitutional and Administrative Law Journal (CALJ). Please do note however, that such publication shall be contingent on the number and the quality of the papers we receive. The articles shall only be published if the papers satisfy our journal’s editorial standards.
  • Cash prizes shall be provided to the top three paper presenters during the valedictorian ceremony.
