Carmelites of Mary Immaculate founded and run the School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) in Bangalore (CMI). CHRIST (Deemed to be University), originally Christ College, held the uncommon distinction of being one of India’s first schools to be certified by the NAAC in 1998. As a result, in 2004 and 2016, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) received the highest grade of “A” on a four-point scale.
In four decades, the institution has risen to the top of the city’s educational rankings. According to the MHRD’s NIRF Rankings released in 2020, SLCU is among India’s best law schools. The Bar Council of India has approved the courses. SLCU has an unrivalled infrastructure, including well-equipped audio-visual classrooms, resourceful libraries with the most up-to-date legal publications and journals, an information centre with 24/7 Internet access, conference halls, mini auditoriums, and, most importantly, a welcoming environment in which to study and explore life’s many possibilities.
