What Is IFIM Law School, Bengaluru?

About The Competition 

The Moot Court Committee at IFIM Law School is proud to present the “3rd IFIM National Moot Court Competition, 2024” which will be conducted from 26th to 28th July, 2024. This Competition edition aims to provide law students with a platform to showcase their skills and deepen their understanding of Competition Law. This theme is crucial for preserving competitive markets and ensuring consumer welfare, as it addresses the legal mechanisms that prevent monopolistic behavior and promote fair competition.

The moot proposition is meticulously drafted by Ms. Anubhuti Mishra (LLM in Competition Law, King’s College London; BA.LLB (Hons), Hidayatullah National Law University), and it ensures a challenging and insightful experience for all participants. This expertly crafted problem will enable students to engage with real-world scenarios, enhancing their legal reasoning and advocacy skills in the complex field of competition law.

What Are The Details Of The Moot Court Competition?

  • Eligibility:
  • A maximum of 32 teams shall be registered on a first-come first-serve basis.
  • The Competition is open to students currently enrolled in LL.B. Degree Courses (3 years/5 years) from any institution recognized by the Bar Council of India.
  • There can be a maximum of 2 teams from each Institution/College.
  • Cross-institutional teams are not eligible to participate in the competition.
  • Prizes:
  • The Winning Team shall be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 60,000, an Internship Opportunity with Singhania & Co. LLP, Three (3) one-year complimentary subscriptions to SCC Online Web Edition worth Rs. 72,000/- along with a Trophy and Certificates.
  • The Runner-Up Team shall be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 40,000, an Internship Opportunity with VGB Associates, and Three (3) quarterly complimentary subscriptions to SCC Online Web Edition worth Rs. 72,000/- along with a Trophy and Certificates.
  • Best Speaker Male, Best Speaker Female, Best Researcher, Best Memorial – Informant, and Best Memorial – Opposite Party shall be awarded Rs. 10,000 each along with Trophies and Certificates.
  • Important Dates: Last Date of Early Bird Registration: 14th June, 2024.
  • Last Date for Final Registration: 24th June, 2024.
  • Last Date for Submissions for Clarifications: 26th July, 2024.
  • Last Date for Memorial Submission (Soft Copy): 12th July, 2024.
  • Dates of the Competition: 26th to 28th July, 2024.
  • Registration Fees: The Registration Fee is Rs. 5000 per team. However, teams can pay a discounted amount of Rs. 4,000 if they register before 14th June 2024. An additional amount of Rs. 2000 must be paid by any team that wants to opt for accommodation.
