Soliciting bimonthly scientific articles, research papers in international and constitutional law from scholars, judges and people from related fields, such as economics, philosophy and political science, the Journal aims to provide a critical analysis of current issues, the debates and the global trends that have immense constitutional implications.

About the Essay Competition:
Ambedkar Memorial National Essay competition is an effort to develop a love for the constitution in the young minds and develop a keen legal acumen and understanding of the various aspects of the magnum opus of Dr. Ambedkar. The topics have been chosen so that they challenge the participants to think outside the box, to develop a rational, critical and analytical thinking in the Students
Themes Of The Competition:
- The Judicial Bench. (Context: Judicial decisions in the light of jurisprudential leanings of the judges involved. The idea is to explore landmark decisions, a lot of which became iconic in shaping our constitutional history, in the light of the bench that was present and
their ideologies.) - Uniform Civil Code: In the light of judicial stand on personal laws.
- Ideation of a Living Constitution or a Dead constitution.
- Judicial Review of the pardoning power of the President and the Governors of India.
- The aid and advice of Council of Ministers: The position of the judiciary in making the President a mere rubber stamp.
- Judicial review of Economic legislations. (Context: The judicial approach to economic legislations has always been deferential, or has it? Explore this idea, where does economic legislation stand vis-à-vis other aspects of the constitution.)
- Contempt of Court. (Context: The judicial stand on contempt of court proceedings have never been strict, they change as per circumstances and people involved. Examine in the light of recent events.)
- Chasing its own tail around the maple. (Context: constituent power gives rise to the constitution, which gives rise to the constituting power{legislature, executive, judiciary} which proceeds to amend the constitution, in effect exercising amending/constituent power, explore the idea in light of article 370 or any other amendment/ proposed amendment or any dilemma and limit yourself to the constitutional discussion.)
- Evolution is better than revolution. ( Context: Explore the idea in the light of history of judicial review in India)
- Judicial review grant of mining lease granted by government.
- The Social Justice Bench. (Context: Supreme Court has a separate social justice bench. Examine the necessity of such bench, and any developments that have taken place.)
GENERAL GUIDELINES:
Important Dates
• Registration – last date of Registration March 30, 2017
• Submission Date – The essays must be submitted on or before April 20, 2017.
• Declaration of the Result –The results shall be declared on the 30th April.
The winners of the competition shall be notified by email.
Guidelines for Submission:
• The essays must be submitted in English only.
• The essays should be the original work of the authors. Any kind of plagiarism will lead to disqualification.
• The essays published elsewhere or selected/submitted for publication elsewhere shall be disqualified.
• The name of the author(s) should not be mentioned anywhere in the essay.
• The word limit for the essay is 3000 – 5000 words, not including footnotes.
• The essays should be typed in: Times New Roman, Font Size 12 and Line Spacing 1.5.
• The footnotes must be typed in: Times New Roman, Font Size 10 and Line Spacing 1.
• The margins should be 1” or 2.54 cm on all sides.
• Any uniform mode of citation to be followed.
Submission Procedure:
• The essays must be sent by email to educentric@outlook.com
• The subject of the e-mail must specify “Name of the essay: name of the author(s).”
• The essay may be attached in ‘.doc’ or ‘.docx’ format only.
• The participants are required to send the following details in a separate word document attached to the e-mail:

▪ College/ Institute/University of Author(s)
▪ E-mail address & Contact No. of Author(s)
