Who Is The Organiser?

Rajiv Gandhi School Of Intellectual Property Law, Indian Institute Of Technology, Kharagpur (RGSOIPL) is the first law school in India imparting full-time Intellectual Property education along with other regular courses prescribed by the Bar Council of India. It also has the unique distinction of being the only law school within the IIT system.

What Are The Details Of The Event?

  • Date of the event: March 16th-17th, 2024
  • Objective: The aim of the competition is to facilitate a platform for the participants to actively engage in policy development, fostering interest and participation in governance.
  • Eligibility: The Competition is open to all interdisciplinary UG students, PG students, Research scholars, Industry Professionals and Faculty. Note: – The competition is a single participation event.
  • Submission Guidelines: The Policy Paper should be submitted as per the guidelines stated below: –
    • The Content of the Policy Paper drafted should be original and not plagiarized (15 % limit) or else amount to total deduction of drafted piece or disqualification. The decision of the organizer’s shall be final.
    • The Policy Paper shall be in English language only.
    • Word limit is 1500-4000.
    • The main body of the manuscript should be in Times New Roman style, with font size 12, and 1.5 line spacing.
    • Footnotes should also be in Times New Roman style, with fontsize 10, and 1.0 line spacing.
    • Footnotes should conform to the Bluebook 21st Edition or OSCOLA.
    • Submission shall be made in .doc or docx and .pdf formats. Note: – The submission for the policymaking is to be made on February 29th, 2024.
  • Procedure:
    • This competition is designed for individual participation only; group entries are not permitted.
    • The Policy drafted by each Participant shall be submitted through the following Google Form by CLICK HERE
    • Each policy paper must target the agenda.
    • The panel’s decision will be based on the written and oral submissions of the participants.
    • Each Participant shall have a maximum of 10 minutes to present their policy, including the judge’s questions.
    • The Participants shall make a preliminary registration for the event via Google Form and should also ensure that they also complete the CEP Registration on or before February 29th, 2024. It is to be noted that BOTH preliminary registrations through Google Forms and CEP Registration are mandatory.
  • Prize: The top three participants will qualify to receive the prize.
  • Registration Fees: The registration fee for the event is.
    • EACH PARTICIPANT/ ATTENDEE: 700 INR
    • EACH FACULTY/ INDUSTRY AS A PARTICIPANT: 2000 INR
    • EACH INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPANT: $37 / 3000 INR
