ABOUT:
University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS) is pleased to announce and invite a team from your institute/college/university to participate in its Third Edition of its Law Fest, “Arguendo” being organized from 2nd to 4th February, 2017.
This initiative of UILS is aimed to hone the advocacy skills of students aspiring to join the legal profession as well as demonstrate the practical aspects of the law.
WHEN:
February 2nd – 4th, 2017.
VENUE:
University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Punjab University, Chandigarh
Following events will be a part of the Law Fest:
- 3rd All India Gurcharan Singh Tulsi Criminal Law Annual Moot Court Competition, 2017 (National Trial Advocacy Competition).
- 6th Dr. Gurdial Singh Dhillon UILS National Client Counseling Competition, 2017.
Registration:
The teams will be registered on ‘first come first served’ basis. Participants are not allowed to take part in more than one event. However, an institution can send different teams for the events the registration is restricted to twenty-two (22) teams only for Client Counseling and 24 for Trial Advocacy (Priority shall be determined on the basis of e-mail confirmation and receipt of duly filled Registration Forms and Demand Drafts which must reach the organizers before the due date).

The Registration Fee for each event is as under:
- 3rd All India Gurcharan Singh Tulsi Criminal Law Annual Moot Court Competition, 2017 ( National Trial Advocacy Competition) Rs. 5000 /- per team (each team will consist a maximum of four members)
- 6th Dr. Gurdial Singh Dhillon UILS National Client Counseling Competition, 2017.- Rs. 3000 /- per team (each team will consist a maximum of two members)
PRIZES:
Attractive prizes will be awarded to the winning teams and individuals to the extent of:
- 3rd UILS National Trial Advocacy Moot Court Competition 2017 – Rs. 2,00,000/-
- 6 h UILS National Client Counseling Competition 2017 – Rs. 50,000/-
NOTE:
The proposition for the National Trial Advocacy Moot Court Competition will be sent shortly. The focus area of UILS National Client Competition will be Family matters, Business Law and Criminal Law.
