The International Journal on Law and Access to Justice (IJLAJ) invites Articles, Notes, Case Comments and Book Reviews for its inaugural issue (Volume 1, Issue 1). Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis.

About:

The International Journal on Law and Access to Justice (IJLAJ) is the flagship journal of KnowLaw, an initiative in association with Human Rights Law Network, Kochi.

KnowLaw aims to weave easy access to legal aid for the public by providing an online platform which can be easy accessed by the public.

We are currently working on expanding our work to schools, colleges, muncipalities, panchayats etc. to conduct legal awareness classes and legal-aid camps.

With this inaugural issue of IJLAJ, we invite academicians, research scholars, practitioners and students to send in scholarly manuscripts to help us take forward our vision of promoting legal knowledge, scholarship and awareness.

The journal is stated to be a quarterly online publication, and will be published at KnowLaw.in/IJLAJ.

Theme:

The inaugural issue will follow an Open Theme, however we encourage and appreciate scholarly manuscripts focusing on Access to Justice, Legal Awareness, and Legal Aid.

Submission Procedure:

Submissions should be sent via email to journal.ijlaj@knowlaw.in

Submission Categories:

Submissions can be made in the following categories:

1. Articles (2500-3500 words)
2. Long Articles (4000-7500 words)
3. Notes & Case Comments (1500-2500 words)
4. Book Review (750-1000 words)

Submission Guidelines:

-Submissions must be sent via email to journal.ijlaj@Knowlaw.in in MS word format (.doc or .docx).

-Submissions should be in Times New Roman with Font Size 12, and 1.5 line spacing.

-Headings should be of Font Size 14.

-Footnotes should be in Times New Roman, 10 Font Size with 1.0 line spacing.

-Citation style preferred is Bluebook, 19th Edition.

-Co-authorship is permitted to a maximum of one co-author.

-The manuscripts should be accompanied by a cover-letter in the email stating the name, contact information, institution, and address of the author(s).

Evaluation Procedure:

The manuscripts shall be evaluated on the basis of originality, conceptual clarity and innovativeness. Plagiarized articles will be summarily rejected. Authors shall solely be responsible for the accuracy of statements in the article.

The manuscripts will go through double-blind peer evaluation by the Editorial Board, on a rolling basis. The authors of the selected papers will be contacted via email. The authors of the selected manuscripts will also be required to fill a declaration-cum-copy right form prior to the publication.

Publication Fee:

A publication fee of Rs.500/- has to be paid prior to the publication. The details for making the publication fee will be informed to the authors of the selected manuscripts.
