About the organisation

National Law University, Delhi is a law university in India, offering courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Situated in Sector-14, Dwarka, New Delhi, India, NLUD is one of the national law schools in India built on the five-year law degree model proposed and implemented by the Bar Council of India.

Project 39A draws inspiration from Article 39-A in the Indian Constitution on equal justice and signals the broadening of our work on the criminal justice system in India. The project undertakes litigation, research and outreach relating to forensics, torture, legal aid, forensic psychiatry and death penalty.

Fair Trial Fellowship Programme: The Programme commenced in August 2018 and has established a Fellowship Programme to support empanelled legal aid lawyers under the District Legal Service Authority (DLSA).

Job Description

Designations: Senior Legal Researcher and Legal Researcher

Location

Mumbai, Nagpur or Pune

Eligibility

Senior Legal Researcher

  1. Graduate with an LLB degree.
  2. Proficiency in English and Hindi and/or Marathi is Mandatory.
  3. Candidates with an LLM degree/ Postgraduate degree in subjects related to the Programme will be preferred.
  4. Minimum of five years of experience of working in programmes on child rights/criminal justice/ legal aid support will be desirable.

Legal Researcher 

  1. Graduate with an LLB degree.
  2. Proficiency in English and Hindi and/or Marathi is mandatory.
  3. Candidates with an LLM degree/Postgraduate degree in subjects related to the Programme will be preferred.
  4. Minimum of three years of experience of working in programmes on child rights, criminal justice/ legal aid support will be desirable.
