Project 39A is inviting applications for multiple job roles of legal researchers viz. Associates for its Legal Aid, Forensics, Mitigation teams, and Mental Health Project.
Eligibility Criteria
Associate – Research (Legal Aid)
- Graduate with an LLB degree.
- Candidates with a LL.M and a demonstrable interest in access to justice issues will be preferred.
- Basic knowledge about the Indian criminal justice system would be desirable.
- This is a full-time position based in Delhi.
Senior Researcher (Legal Aid)
- Either an LLM or a Master’s degree in criminology.
- Relevant work experience of at least 3 years.
- High degree of familiarity with the criminal justice system is strongly preferred.
- Candidates with prior field research experience and academic publications, particularly on access to justice issues will be preferred.
- This is a full-time position based in Delhi.
Associate (Forensics)
- Graduate with an LLB degree.
- Enrolment with any State Bar Council.
- Candidates with a Masters’ degree and a keen interest in forensic science will be preferred.
- Basic knowledge about the Indian criminal justice system would be desirable.
- This is a full-time position based in Delhi.
Associate (Mitigation)
- Postgraduate with a degree in social work, psychology, journalism, development studies, economics, sociology, law or any allied discipline.
- Two (2) years of work experience in the respective field would be preferred.
- Any previous field work involving an emphasis on communication skills, investigative capacities and/or mental health will be considered an advantage.
- Substantial proficiency in reading/ speaking Hindi will be necessary. Additional proficiency in any of the following languages would be an advantage: Punjabi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu.
Mental Health Project – Associate (Research)
- Postgraduate with a degree in social work, psychology, journalism, development studies, economics, sociology, law or any allied discipline.
- Two (2) years of work experience in the respective field would be preferred.
- Any previous field work involving an emphasis on communication skills, investigative capacities and/or mental health will be considered an advantage.
