ABOUT ORGANISATION:
Indian Social Institute was established 1951 in response to the challenges of nation-building and a new emerging social order in an independent India.The vision of the institute is to build a just, humane, secular and democratic Indian society wherein the poor and marginalized communities cherish equality, dignity, freedom, justice, peace and harmony.
Over last six decades the institute has committed itself in brining social transformation through socially relevant research, training and action, publication and advocacy works aimed at integral development of the marginalized communities, particularly the Dalits, Adivasis/tribals, women, minorities, unorganized and landless labourers in partnership with academicians, people’s movements, human rights organizations and ecological movements nationally and internationally.
Internship:
The institute provides opportunity to students, teachers and young aspirants to spend short as well as long duration to interact, contribute and learn from the rich resources of the institute on the core intervention areas and themes. Every year students of law, sociology, political science, social work and other disciplines spend time with us. We encourage internship for a minimum period of a month. Volunteers:
The institute accepts gladly volunteers who would like to generously support and extend their services for social cause. You could volunteer to support the works of the institute either by your physical presence at the institute or virtually. We have very many needs like support in research, media advocacy, preparation of training material etc. You could reach the most needy and poor through the works of the institute.
