About Organization:
WBSLA basically provides legal services to the indigent people, for the deserted women, for the convicts who are to unable to arrange for their advocates for various reasons.
Duration of the Internship:
6 weeks
Timing:
From 10:00 am to 5:30 pm (Monday to Saturday)
Main Task Work Profile:
Interns have to go through different case files and would later on ask you to write certain official letters on their behalf.
Work Environment at office:
The employees over there generally maintain a healthy and friendly working environment, and possess a helpful nature to every intern.
Stipend:
4000 INR
First day at organization:
It was a good experience, where, we got to talk to the secretary of the organization directly and he shared certain interesting working experiences with us. Later we were assigned to go through certain case files.
Best Part of Internship:
We got to visit different rectification homes (jails) around the city, where we had the opportunity to talk with the jail inmates directly, and listen to their different problems regarding their livelihood inside the prisons or any other problems of legal nature.
Biggest Lesson:
The law aspirants should be made aware of the fact that the people belonging to the lower strata of the society should not be deprived of their legal rights and equal opportunity must also be provided to them to use their legal rights.
Anything else you’d like to tell:
The internship duration proved to be a learning process, for the interns.
Any Message to other Law Students:
These kinds of organizations generally focus on the legal issues related to the people, who are unable to help themselves, so any person who would be interested to work in these kinds of organizations must keep a lot of patience while dealing with the people asking for help and must prepare their mind accordingly.
