Name of the Student:
Manish Kumar Thakur
Year of Study:
4th Year
College Name:
Faculty Of Law, The ICFAI University Dehradun
Organization Name, City:
Singhi and Singhi Law Chambers, Jaipur
The firm is 5 minutes away from Daink Bhaskar,JLN Marg
About Organization:
The office of Singhi and Singhi is spacious with two libraries and one conference room.
Duration of the Internship:
15th May to 15th june
Timing:
Reporting time in court is 9 am and Office timings are 4:30pm to 9pm. The timing of our internship does not require any lunch time but if someone is hungry he can take permission either from Anuroop Sir or any Associate Adv. Saurabh Jainand Kushagra Sharma.
Main Task Work Profile:
At the first instance, the interns are just assigned to read the case files in order to understand drafting and are asked to refer the sections involved in the case which at the end of each day are discussed by either Anuroop Sir or in his absence his associates. This helped us in understanding the research methodology.
Furthermore, after a few days you are asked to research on recent case law pertaining to certain judicial questions. I also drafted legal notices during the period of my intern. Here I wanted to share my some case experiences but due to confidentiality clause I cant share those experiences:)
Work Environment at office:
The work environment was very favourable. There is no overburdening of work though due diligence and seriousness was expected when one was given the work.
The people at Singhi and Singhi were extremely helpful, jovial and nice and if you are willing to learn, you should have no problem.
Stipend:
None
First day at organization:
Most of the interns at the fist day of their work feeling same 😉 Singhi and Singhi is a very well known and and reputed law firm in Jaipur. I was very nervous as I entered the place the very first day. I was shown the way to the basement where I introduced myself to Anuroop Sir who was one of the partners of the firm. He then introduced me to his colleagues and the associates.
Though, the appealing factor was that there were bare acts available almost of all legal subjects. The collection houses 100 volumes of reporters relating to taxation, law of contract, company law, muncipial laws, constitutional law and criminal law. We were given files to read.
Best Part of Internship:
This internship was a very enjoyable and educative internship as a lot of emphasis was put on the interns and they were encouraged by the lawyers. The generosity, simplicity, politeness anddedication of not only the associates but of Anuroop Sir are worth appreciation.
