About Workshop
Together We Can. We Will is organising a workshop on “Art of Advocacy”
“Advocacy” can mean many things, but in general, it refers to taking action. Advocacy simply involves speaking and acting on behalf of yourself or others.
Advocacy is a skill wherein a lawyer puts forth his argument before the court to persuade the judge to give a decision in favour of his client. Advocacy can be either written or oral.
Advocacy skill is an invaluable skill which every lawyer must have to be a successful lawyer. Advocacy skill is not confined to the courtroom alone but it gets initiated from the time when the client comes in to meet the lawyer. Advocacy involves a wide range of abilities like case analysis, drafting, using arguments, oral submissions and cross-examining the witness so as to put forward a strong and persuasive case.
Advocacy is said to be an art rather than a science. With the budding lawyer’s intent on foraying into the world of
lawyering, advocacy skill is a major tool in their hands.
