About NALSA
National Legal Services Authority of India was formed on 9 November 1995 under the authority of the Legal Services Authorities Act 1987. Its purpose is to provide free legal services to eligible candidates and to organize Lok Adalats for the speedy resolution of cases.
About the Internship
NALSA invites online applications from the students studying in National Law Universities/Law Institutions and recognized Law Colleges of the country for its Winter Internship Programme: 2019-2020.
Qualifications
Law Students pursuing their 5 years integrated Bachelor degree in law or pursuing the 3 years Bachelor degree in law and also the students of LLM can apply for the above-said internship.
Period of Internship
The internship period will be about three weeks. The probable period of internship will be from December 2019 to mid- February 2020 and there will be three batches of students during the winter internship, as detailed below:
Batch-I from 04.12.2019 to 26.12.2019
Batch-II from 07.01.2020 to 29.01.2020
Batch-III from 21.01.2020 to 12.02.2020

Interested students can apply online from 10th October 2019 (11 A.M onwards). The last date for receipt of application in this Authority is 30th October 2019 (up to 5 P.M).
Applications received after the due date or through e-mail/by post/by hand will not be entertained. Furnishing of recommendation letter duly signed by Dean/Principal/Head of the Faculty as per the prescribed proforma by NALSA is mandatory.
While applying online, the students are advised to indicate their choice of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) after choosing the jurisdictional State Legal Services Authority (SLSA). They are also advised to indicate anyone batch out of three batches.
The final selection will be made by this Authority and, the selected students will be intimated through e-mail by 11th November 2019.
Selection of Interns
Selection will be made on the basis of receipt of the number of applications. Preference will be given to seniors in the Degree course(s).
