In the Indian history for the first time the Chair on Consumer Law and Practice (CLAP) has been established in August 2008, by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi at National Law School of India University, Bangalore to promote research, teaching and training in Consumer Law and Practice.
The Chair is acting as a “Think Thank” for the Research and Policy related issues on Consumer Law and Practice. The Consumer chair is also encouraging Empirical and doctrinal research.
Internship Objective
To familiarize the interested and willing students of Law with the provisions of Consumer Protection Laws and acquaint the interns with the need and importance of Consumer Protection and Consumer Welfare.
Nature of Internship
The Nature of an Internship is generally physical. But due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they accept both virtually and physical Internship.
Eligibility
The internship is open to students from recognized Law Institutions and Universities
Students pursuing the following courses can apply:
- The second and third year of the Bachelor’s degree in Law (3-year course after graduation), or Fourth and final year of the integrated five-year course in Law.
- LLM Students
- Research Scholars and Practitioners may also apply
Duration
The Internship shall be for a minimum period of 30 days.
