The line which inspires me the most throughout my pathway of life is “always do things to have a learning experience, not to have a profit- loss business”

Learning is the basic aim of my professional life, and everything which attracts me is just because of its learning aspect, i truly believe in gaining more and more knowledge in every phase of my path towards success to excel in my law field and do towards the development of my nation.
I always utilise my each and every time of student life to get best out of me, and that’s why I prefer to do internships every now and then, whenever I am free from my college hours .
My best internship towards my goal was at RLEK Dehradhun, Among my 8 internships till now in NGOs, Law Firms, Corporate offices, Under an Advocate. RLEK Internship started from 20th June to 20th July, 2015.
This internship was truly based on the quote, “ Nothing is free of cost in this World”, For this opportunity i have to go through many ups and downs regarding the slot available, My university as usual is in the habit of changing the semester dates twice or thrice and the changing exams dates led to the change of slot of this internship thrice, from 1st June to 16th June and then finally to 20th June, the website through which one can apply is: rlek.org@gmail.com with my CV and a cover letter and one can contact them through these numbers: 0135-2746071 and 0135- 2745539.
The best part of this internship was no tension of accommodation and homemade food, as they provide both at reasonable rates, accommodation for 100Rs per day and fooding for Rs. 60/ meal, and they provide 3 meals a day and Refreshments twice a day. The accommodation was very comfortable consisting of two halls, 30 beds, television for fun, Air condition to kick the hot weather sometimes, because Dehradun is a place of heaven, chilly having wonderful climate and those who don’t like restriction of hostels they can go for a P.G. located in the Rajpur Road, RLEK is located at the central area of DEHRADUN with a number of hangout and fooding stalls.
The internship started with the help of Shweta mam, who handles all the work there regarding incoming and outgoing things at RLEK, She is a kind and humble lady with a golden heart, we used to call her Vanilla ICE CREAM. She was always there to adjust our slot dates and the day began with the introduction of RLEK- RURAL LITIGATION & ENTITLEMENT KENDRA, We were asked to fill the internship form and our personal details and given prospectus of RLEK to learn the success, growth and development of the place where we are going to work for next 30 days of our life.
The first week went with introductions, making new friends, reading books and articles which was in good quantity and quality available in the library, the lectures given by the Chairman of RLEK Mr. Advdhash Kaushal, on the vision and missions of RLEK: TO REACH THE UNREACHED AND INCLUDE THE EXCLUDED. The NGO consists of 150 members working and giving their 100% to fulfill their aim. The office timings are from 10 A.M. to 5 A.M., The members work day and night to give the people who are unaware about their rights and duties justice and their initiatives have led to dissemination of several acts.
RLEK had worked for bonded labours, narcotics and psychotropic substances, and environment protection. We were given training and lectures on RLEK’s sister concerns: PRAGATI, PRAKRIYA, HRC, JSS, etc ; tool making program which is the way to teach illiterate people the basic knowledge, The main aim of RLEK to provide VAN GUJJARS their rights and duties, presentations on the working of the NGO, etc.
The main fun of this period was knowing more and more people, making friends, enjoying the rainy season of Dehradhun, viewing different sights of heaven, enjoying hostel life, Playing hide and seek at night, the time limit to enter hostel premises was 10 P.M. and after enjoying outside we all use to meet at terrace, from where one can view the beautiful lighting of Mussorie, celebrations of birthdays at 12 A.M. ,dancing and playing various games, clicking selfies, after the tiring office hours. The best thing of our work for the NGO was to do and work on the issues which we wanted with permission of the NGO, we all students were asked to make group of 10 and work on any social issue, my team choose the WORK MANAGEMENT, and worked in one of the small area of Dehradun which comes under gram sabha, we went to talk to the several authorities and decided to clean the most dirty part of the area and aware people and perform a survey, we presented a report on this after working for a week.
3rd week we all worked for education and girl child and presented a play to aware people, took out a Railey through the cantt area of Dehradun. In this time we were taken to meet van Gujjars, know about their life and experience, how they help in environment sustainability which was a sort of small trip in the highway of Dehradun- Delhi. We were given lectures on several issues by RLEK sisters concern and several games were there to make our understanding more clear.
The 4th week went with the Iftari party which was organised by RLEK and several high profile people were called and we got an opportunity to interact with them , celebrating I’d with yummy food, gossips and photo sections. The internship ended with a wonderful vacation with learning of different sectors of an NGO, application of law by them, we were asked to present a presentation on any issue work on them for the 30 days which we had, read about RLEK , work and search for several issues which we wanted, research work on van Gujjars and at the end we presented our work list and the things we learn in the past 30 days for which we were examined by Shweta mam and then our detailed certificate was made, signed and finally received which ended this wonderful journey, my internship, my vacations, saying good bye to all the co interns coming back to Lucknow and then getting again excited for the next internship at CIPRA, NLSIU:)from 1st August to 30th August, 2016.
