1) Name, College, year of study of the student intern
Arjit Mishra, Hidayatullah National Law University
2) Do you want to submit the internship experience anonymously? Yes/No?
No
3) Name of the organisation where you interned and its full address
Divanshu Gupta Law Chambers, Address:136, Vishveshvariya Nagar, Arjun Nagar, Jaipur, Rajasthan 302018, India
4) Duration of internship
The internship lasted 4 weeks . However, I interned for 6 weeks starting from 15th Sept. 2021-30th October 2021.
5) How did you apply ?
I mailed my CV with a cover letter to divanshug10@gmail.com
6) First day formalities, infrastructure, first impression
The office is in the basement of the above-mentioned address which had Sir’s cabin and a separate area for interns. There was no such first-day formality. The first impression of the internship was good as He asked me to clear my basics before giving actual tasks.
7) Main tasks
Tasks primarily consisted of researching and drafting on several cases of different subjects of law such as Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, Consumer Protection Act, 2019, Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, etc. You’ll also be asked to visit courts and do any necessary work there. Appreciable day-to-day involvement in cases is also there.
8) Work environment
Sir is very cooperative and considerate. You’ll probably be a sole intern there so you might get bored, however, the same brings a peaceful environment to work in and better coordination with sir.
9) Good things
Matters of varied dimensions of law and the amount of involvement of interns in such matters is the most appreciable thing of the internship.
10) Bad things
There’s no such ‘bad thing’ concerning the internship. The amount of work necessitates staying at the office till around 8 PM. However, once you start enjoying working, time will become irrelevant.
11) Stipend (if any)
The stipend is performance-based. I was given 5,000 in reward for my work.
12) Accommodation, commuting to office
There are several Hostels and PGs near to the office, so accommodation is not a big problem. Cab services are also available for commuting to the office.
13) Anything else? Like: what you did to chill out, lessons learnt, etc.
Sir has only one focus that any intern’s experience should be mutually beneficial and rightly so. With regards to the chill out aspect, you can ask the office boy to make coffee, etc. for you. You can also go out to relax, however, it shouldn’t impact the work.
