About The University
The University of Kashmir is a university located on the western side of Dal Lake in the city of Srinagar, which lies in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. It has been awarded Grade “A+” with CGPA 3.31 by the NAAC on 20/05/2019.
The Department of Law was established in the year 1973 with the continuous efforts of Prof. A. A. Wani and Prof. Riyaz Punjabi. The Department started functioning in the Gandhi Bhawan with Prof. M.R. Zaffer as its first Head. Subsequently, it was shifted to wooden barracks at Naseem Bagh.
About the moot
Law Society, School of Law, University of Kashmir, Srinagar is organising the Kashmir University International Moot Court Competition 2019 from 30th August 2019 to 1st September 2019 at School of Law, University of Kashmir, Hazratbal, Srinagar, Kashmir – 190006.
Eligibility
Students duly enrolled and pursuing LLB or BA LLB course from any university recognised by the Bar Council of India or students pursuing an equivalent undergraduate course from any duly recognised foreign university may apply to participate in the competition.
The members of the foreign teams are required to have a valid passport at the time of registration. They are required to mention their passport details in their respective registration forms.
Team
Each team shall comprise of three (3) members (two speakers and one researcher). A two (2) member team, in which both the members are speakers, is also eligible.
However, such team shall not be eligible to sit in the researcher test. No change in team composition shall be permitted once the registration of the team has been confirmed by the organisers. No additional/observer member shall be entitled to hospitality or certificate.
Provided that, in case of any contingency or emergency, the researcher may substitute the speaker with the prior permission of the organisers.

Registration Procedure
- Only one team per institution is allowed to register in the competition.
- Team members shall clearly fill up the form with the correct spelling of each team member’s name and other details, as may be required in the registration form. The names entered in the form will be used for all official purposes such as issuing of certificates etc.
- The registration process involves the following two steps. However, Step 2 is not applicable to foreign teams.
Step 1: Email Each team must register through electronic means by sending a scanned copy of the duly filled registration form and a scanned copy of their fee payment slip to sclukimc19@gmail.com latest by 30th July 2019.
The form must be sent from an official email id of the Moot Court Committee (or faculty in charge of the moot court) of the institution of the participating team.
Step 2: Post [Not applicable to foreign teams] A hard copy of the duly filled and signed registration form along with a copy of the fee payment slip must be sent to the below mentioned address through registered post latest by 20th July 2019.

However, the foreign teams are required to submit the hard copies on their arrival. The official language, for all purposes of the competition, shall be English only.
Fee Details
The registration fees for the competition are as follows:
- For Local Teams: INR 3000 for the purpose of this competition, the local teams include: School of Legal Studies, Central University of Kashmir and all private law colleges affiliated to Kashmir University. The local teams shall not be provided with accommodation.
- For Indian Teams: INR 8000
- For Foreign Teams: Their local currency amount equivalent to INR 8000/-

The teams are required to email the scanned copy of their payment details along with the registration form. Moreover, they are also required to send a photocopy of the same along with the hard copy of the registration form (only for Indian teams).
The foreign teams are required to get a copy of the same along with them and submit the same to the organisers before the commencement of the competition.
Deadlines
24th June 2019: Release of Moot Proposition
20th July 2019: Last date for registration [Via email].
22nd July 2019: Issue of Team Identification Number [TIN]
10th July 2019: Last date for receiving clarifications about the moot proposition.
12th July 2019: Release of clarification to the teams.
30th July 2019: Last date for receipt of hard copies of registration form [Foreign teams are exempted from mailing the hard copies of their forms. However, they are required to submit the same on their arrival].
20th August 2019: Last date of receiving soft copies of the memorials. [To be sent to sclukimc19[at]gmail.com]. The teams are required to bring five sets of hard copies of their memorials (five applicants and five respondent) along with them.
