Who Is The Organiser?
The Kirit P. Mehta School of Law (KPMSOL) of SVKM’s NMIMS (Deemedto-be- University) Established in the year 2013 approved by the Bar Council of India aims to provide a Law School with global focus and international outreach dedicated to advance human dignity, social and economic welfare, and justice through knowledge of law. Kirit P. Mehta School of Law, NMIMS aims to refine students’ competencies by engaging them in curricular and extra- curricular activities. Qualified faculties and support staff assist learners to easily integrate into the course and participate in events.
The Moot Court Committee at NMIMS Kirit P Mehta School of Law organizes a wide range of events and competitions throughout the academic year, providing students with ample opportunities to enhance their mooting abilities. These include conducting The Novice Moot Court competition and Intra Moot Court Competition, organizing training sessions, hosting workshops on legal research and advocacy, and facilitating interactions with experienced mooters and legal practitioners.
Following the success of the previous editions, we take immense pride in announcing that the 5th International Moot Court Competition is scheduled to be scheduled in 11 to 13 August 2023. With an increasing rise in the field of arbitration and investment across the world, this year the proposition is based on ‘International Investment Treaty Arbitration’
What Are The Details Of The Competition?
- Theme: Investment Treaty Arbitration
- Objective: The moot proposition is founded on a Bilateral Investment Treaty between Nigen and Ketterdam for the sustainable extraction of oil and energy resources. the 5th International Moot Court Competition has inculcated the issues relating to such treaties and put forth such a situation to be discussed and decided by International Arbitration Mechanism.
- Date of the Event/Oral Rounds: 11th-13th August 2023
- Mode of the event: Offline mode
- Venue: SVKM’s NMIMS Kirit P Mehta School Of Law Campus Mumbai, Maharastra
- Eligibility:
- All students enrolled bona fide in an undergraduate i.e. 3 years/ 5 years and postgraduate law programme conducted by any college or university shall be eligible for participation in the competition.
- Each College/University/Institution shall be allowed to register only one team in the competition.
- Last Date to Register: 11th June 2023 (11:59 PM)
- Registration form: CLICK HERE To fill out the provisional registration form and CLICK HERE to fill out the final registration form which needs to be done by the teams.
- Registration fee: Payment details shall be sent to the participants via email, after they fill the final registration form. Following payment, Teams shall email a proof of payment at mcc.sol@nmims.edu
- (A) National Teams: With Accommodation: INR 14,750 (Inclusive of 18% GST) & Without Accommodation/Transportation: INR 2,950 (Inclusive of 18% GST)
- (B) International Teams: With Accommodation: USD 214.69 & Without Accommodation/Transportation: USD 42.94
- Last Date for Memorial Submission: 20th July 2023
- Awards/Prizes: The following awards shall be presented:
- Best Team: INR 60,000
- Runner’s up: INR 45,000
- Best Memorial: INR 20,000
- Best Speaker: INR 20,000
- Best Researcher: INR 20,000
- Participation Certificates: All participants will be presented with Certificates of Participation and all the winners of awards as specified above will be presented with Cash Prizes and Certificates of Merit.
