With EBC-SCC Online as a Media Partner, the Indian Review of International Arbitration, Centre for Arbitration and Research, Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai, is hosting a guest lecture on ‘Development of Arbitration in Korea: Lessons for Emerging Arbitral Jurisdictions.‘ Mr. Kevin Kim, Senior Partner, Peter & Kim, Korea, will present the talk.

About the speaker

Mr. Kim, a Senior Partner at Peter & Kim in Korea, has over 30 years of experience in the administration of international commercial and investment arbitrations. He has participated in approximately 300 arbitrations as counsel, co-arbitrator, presiding arbitrator, and single arbitrator in various positions. He was previously the Vice President of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, the Secretary-General of the ICCA, and the Vice-Chair of the IBA Arbitration Committee. He is the Chairman of the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board’s International Arbitration Committee and an adjunct professor at Seoul National University Law School.

He also contributes to academia by engaging in writing and has various publications to his name. He has been globally recognised for his work in the field, by way of various awards and accolades such as Global Elite Thought Leaders 2021 and Global Arbitration Review’s Leading Practicing Arbitration Expert in Korea (2006 – 2020). In this lecture, Mr. Kim will speak about Arbitration law in Korea and its development vis-a-vis the Model Law.
