ABOUT US:

A question often arises as to what is the difference between criminal law and criminology or between criminal justice and criminology. Droit Penale: The Indian Law Journal on Crime and Criminology (ILJCC), aims to resolve this dubiousness by providing a wide range of well researched articles, case notes, commentaries etc. covering the major aspects and issues under the ambit of crime and criminology.

The term Droit Penale, literally means criminal law. It has a French origin and deals with the various facets of crime and criminology. As a huge field of academic study, Criminology tends to cover criminal law and jurisprudence apart from dealing with crimes and criminal and socially deviant behavior of criminals existing in the society. It also deals with the decriminalization processes.

While Criminal law mainly focuses on the punishments coupled or labelled with such a criminal behavior. The ILJCC, a student friendly law journal, has emerged bearing the idea to capitulate an exhaustive approach towards all these fields. It aims at providing a detailed analysis and assimilation of various issues on a single rostrum contrary to the concept of dealing with fields of criminal law and criminology separately.

Further the journal will also feature the works, opinions and viewpoints of the greatest jurists of all times blended with the modern critical approaches towards their work. The IJLCC is committed to provide uncommon, unique and fresh probe into the core legal issues.

Form of Contribution:

Contributions towards the journal in the form of articles, commentaries etc. from law graduates, undergraduates, teachers and other eminent persons are welcome and appreciated.

Submission Process:

All articles, case notes and commentaries published in Droit Penale: Indian Law Journalon Crime and Criminology are subjected to a double-blind refereeing process.

The Submission should be send in an electronic version to editors.droitpenaleiljcc@gmail.com with the subject as: “Submission (Title of the Paper) (Name of Author).”

Authors have an opportunity to review the final version of the piece prior to publication.

Certificate:

Contributors whose submissions have been selected and published in Droit Penale: ILJCC will be awarded a Certificate of Publication and can receive a soft copy of the journal on payment of postage charges.

Deadline for Submission:

The submission deadline is 21st December, 2016.

Submission Guidelines:

  • The title of the research paper should be appropriate.
  • The research paper shall be original and unpublished work.
  • The paper should not be plagiarized,
  • The Entry must be typewritten. Font: Times New Roman, font size 12,line spacing 1.5 and justified alignment.
  • The Citations must be typewritten in the font Times New Roman, font size 10, line spacing 1.0 and justified alignment.
  • The submission must include an Abstract of maximum 300 words explaining the main idea, objective and the conclusions drawn from the article.
  • Co-authorship is allowed subject to a maximum of two. Full names and contact details of all the authors must be given.

Word Limit:

  • Articles (3000-5000 words including footnotes)
  • Short Notes (2000-3000 words including footnotes)
  • Book Reviews (1000-2000 words including footnotes)
  • Case Commentaries (1000-3000 words including footnotes)

Eligibility:

We welcome submissions from students, academicians, researchers and legal practitioners, to come up with their contributions in the form of articles, case comments, legislative comments and book reviews.

Note:

As per the provisions of Press and Registration of Books Act, 1867 the title application of the journal has been submitted for consideration to Registrar of Newspapers (RNI), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. The title is expected to be approved shortly. Interested authors may kindly note that the first issue will be published with both ISSN and RNI numbers.

Website will be launched after the first issue of volume 1 with the Online ISSN.
