Who Is The Organiser?

Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi (IIT BHU) is a public technical university located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. Founded in 1919 as the Banaras Engineering College, it became the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University in 1968. It was later designated an Indian Institute of Technology. IIT (BHU) Varanasi has 16 departments, 3 inter-disciplinary schools and 1 Humanities & Social Sciences Section. It is located inside the Banaras Hindu University Campus.

IITBHU Model United Nations (MUN) is one of the most extensive MUNs conducted in the spiritual city of India, Varanasi. The conference has undergone stellar growth since it’s inception attracting participation from 22+ countries and 7000+ delegates across its 11 brilliant editions. The 11th edition of the Conference was organised in collaboration with UNIC, New Delhi, under the patronage of UNESCO-INCCU. The Honorable Prime Minister along with some highly distinguished personalities like ambassadors and high commissioners of India also endorsed IITBHU MUN with an inspiring message. Being in the middle of the country’s Cultural Capital with its spiritual diversity amidst Asia’s largest residential university, IITBHU MUN has been an ideal location for the conglomeration of passionate debaters and leaders from all over the world to promote diplomacy, advocacy and public speaking among young minds.   • Committees:
    • G20: Agenda: Deliberation upon the effects of globalization and capitalism on healthcare with an emphasis on private healthcare facilities. G20 stands for a group of 20, a committee of 19 nations, and the European Union (EU). Consisting of the world’s largest economies, the G20 fosters collaboration with international organizations to enhance global economic governance.
    • UNCSW: Agenda: Women’s full and effective participation and decision-making in public life, as well as the elimination of violence, for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls The United Nations Commission on the Status of Women is the global intergovernmental body dedicated to the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women.
    • UNHRC: Agenda: Deliberation on the right to life for people living with HIV/AIDS. The UNHRC is the intergovernmental body within the United Nations responsible for promoting and protecting human rights worldwide. Its primary function includes monitoring the practice of human rights among the member states.
    • JPC: Agenda: Discussing the socio-economic development in India with emphasis on delimitation and reorganization of territories A specialised committee made up of representatives from both houses of a parliamentary system is known as a joint parliamentary committee. Its goal is to look into and research certain important national issues.
    • AIPPM: Agenda: Evaluating the existing delimitation criteria and suggesting reforms for a more fair and representative demarcation of constituencies. All India Political Party Meet (AIPPM) is a ground for discussion and debate open to all political parties of India.
    • UNFCCC: Agenda: Assessing the impact of Climate Change with special emphasis on Small Island Developing States (SIDS) In order to address the urgent problem of climate change and devise worldwide policies to lessen its effects, the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (UNCCC) came as an international platform.
    • International Press: Agenda: The International Press consists of the role of journalists, reporters, and photographers. It is responsible for gathering information, conducting interviews, and producing articles or reports on the proceedings
  • The Campus Ambassador programme: The Campus Ambassador (CA) programme enables applicants to play a crucial role in uniting debaters from across the country and demonstrating their leadership abilities by representing IITBHU MUN in their communities. In addition to other monetary and non-monetary benefits, Campus Ambassadors will be honoured for their efforts with certificates endorsed by leading United Nations entitiesAll CAs who send eight or more delegates will receive certificates endorsed by respected UN agencies.
    • The following will be distributed to all CAs bringing the specified number of delegates:10: 25% discount on delegate fees:
      • 20: 50% discount on delegate fees
      • 25: 100% discount on delegate fees with ₹100 off for all delegates registering through the CA.
      • The CA with the most delegates will receive an exclusive memento, be named the “Campus Ambassador to IITBHU MUN’23” and be recognised via a social media post on the official Instagram account of IITBHU MUN.
