Government Law College Model United Nations Society is gearing up for our 9th International Diplomacy Conclave, GLCMUN 2017 scheduled to be held from the 16th to 18th February, 2017.
What Is a MODEL UNITED NATIONS CONFERENCE?
Model United Nations (MUN) is an academic simulation of the United Nations that aims to educate the participants about Current Affairs, International Diplomacy and international Relations.
The participants play the role of Diplomats, each representing a distinct nation in a simulated committee of the United Nations, for example, Security Council (UNSC).
The participants:
1. Research about their country including the entire gamut of its foreign policy and legislation.
2. Take on roles as Diplomats
3. Investigate international issues
4. Debate, Deliberate and Consult
5. Propose solutions to world problems
During the conference the participants employ a variety of communication and critical thinking skills to represent the respective policies of their countries. These skills include public speaking, research, group discussion, policy analysis, negotiation, active listening, conflict resolution and note taking.
