The legal profession in India has undergone various changes over the last few decades. Nowadays the law aspirants not only figure themselves in courts but mark the presence in various corporate houses, law agencies, law firms, litigation, administrative services and much more. Since 1991 law as a profession is not limited to the three organs Legislature, Executive and the Judiciary, whereas law as witnessed dynamic changes in laws also covering the whole range of financial activities in the country, including industry, media, Intellectual Property Rights, Information Technology, data protection etc.
Earlier it was seen that the law has become a family profession i.e. students whose parents were from different profession use to show the least interest in law. But the scenario has changed over a period, anyone having the traits and passion for this field can opt for the course and could achieve what he has set for.
According to India today report, India breeds the largest number of legal professionals in the world i.e. about half a million law students pass out from various colleges in India. This profession has grown over a short span of fewer than 50 years to become one of the world’s largest and most influential governance of the country. Therefore now Legal education in India completely differs from what it was 10 years ago.
Thereof practicing in court is not the only option left after completing law course. The law has various branches such as civil, criminal, corporate, taxation, labour and election law, which are extended to new areas such as; space, cyber, intellectual property, and international laws that a person can specialise in depending on interest and inclination giving rise to various future options.
Future options legal education:

- Corporate Counsellors: With the growing craze for corporate firms, this offers a new career option for working as corporate counsels with law firms. This is most booming career option in India in today’s time as they pay huge amounts to fight their legal cases. This industry also specialises in various fields, thus offering a lot of scope for graduating lawyers.

Legal education is an exciting and challenging profession and gives the satisfaction of saving an innocent person from a life in prison or from execution. The most advantageous aspect of this field is that it is not restricted to a specific background of a student.
So would like to conclude with, that I had tried to put together all possible alternatives, options of the future in legal education in India, which has emerged as an honourable career and at the same time most interesting fact in Law is there is more scope immerging as the field is still growing.
