Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) is the first university established in 1998 by Govt. of NCT of Delhi under the provisions of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University Act, 1998 read with its Amendment in 1999 The University is recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC), India under section 12B of UGC Act.

About the Event

The Constitutional Club, Guru Gobind Singh, Indraprastha University, Dwarka – 110078 has decided to organise an “Essay Writing Competition” for which the last date of submission is April 28, 2021, whilst the results shall be announced on May 5, 2021. The topic for the same is “The Right to Freedom of Speech & It’s Limitations”.

Eligibility Criteria

Students of UGC approved University / College are invited to participate.

General Rules

  • There is no registration fee.
  • The winner(s) of the competition shall be awarded with a certificate and a trophy.
  • Decisions of the organising team shall be final and binding.
  • The submission must be original and unpublished work of the author
  • Plagiarised content shall not be entertained and the author of the same shall be subject to disqualification.
  • The copyright of the published articles shall rest with the organising institution, i.e., University School of Law & Legal Studies, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.
  • Rules / Guidelines are subject to change as per university norms
  • Non-Compliance by the author of any guidelines mentioned herein and elsewhere shall result in immediate and unconditional rejection of their submission.

Submission Guidelines

  • The submissions must be in the English language.
  • The file must be in a .docx format.
  • All entries must be mailed to constitutionalclubdsw@gmail.com
  • The article must include the topic whereas there should be no mention of the author’s name and institution in the body of the article.
  • The word limit is between fifteen hundred (1500) and two thousand (2000) words, excluding footnotes
  • Plagiarism within twenty (20%) percent is acceptable. (Based on Turnitin similarity index).
  • The file name of the submission must be in the format “FirstName LastName.docx”.

Formatting Regulations

  • The article must be typed in Times New Roman, font size should be twelve (12) for body and fourteen (14) for headings.
  • The line spacing should be one point five (1.5) with justified alignment.
  • The footnotes must be typed in Times New Roman with font size being ten (10) and line spacing of one (1).
  • For citations, either Bluebook 20th edition or ILI format must be followed uniformly.

  • Clarity of Idea & Expression
  • The uniqueness of Content
  • Pragmatic solutions to issues of contemporary relevance
  • Depth & quality of research
