Centre for Civil Society (CCS) is conducting an eColloquium on Capitalism, Poverty and Inequality on 27th September 2020.
What is an eColloquium
A CCS eColloquium is an online in-depth discussion centred on a chosen theme. The colloquium provides participants with an opportunity to disentangle themselves from the distractions of everyday life to reflect on issues of fundamental and enduring importance.
Through this program, we create an environment where participants are encouraged to contribute to the discussions by sharing their understanding of the Readings. The eColloquium is also an endeavour to develop innovative ideas and approaches for the advancement of liberalism today.
About the Topic
Terms like capitalism and inequality have become part of contemporary debates however their usage has more often than not been a case of loose interpretations. Capitalism not just as an economic system but a political order needs to be revisited in order to understand its historical underpinnings as well its relation with inequality and poverty.
The eColloquium will provide a platform for an informed, historical and nuanced discussion on these ideas through both classical works of thinkers like Ludwig Von Mises as well as more contemporary literature on social inequalities and the role of capitalism.
A Certificate of participation will be provided to the participants of eColloquium, who successfully attend and contribute to the discussions in all the sessions during the eColloquium.
