The Xavier School of Rural Management (XSRM) of Xavier University Bhubaneswar, India, is planning to organize the first Annual Conference on Rural Management (ACRM) during 26th – 28th October 2017. ACRM will facilitate the congregation of scholars and practitioners from across the world to deliberate and contribute towards the consolidation of the field of RM.

ACRM will facilitate the congregation of scholars and practitioners from across the world to deliberate and contribute towards the consolidation of the field of RM.
Invitation of Papers
The following types of contributions are invited from the interested participants:
- Papers: Conceptual / empirical papers based on research, practice
- Management Cases: Management Decision Cases based on real life decision dilemma and Case Studies on relevant areas
Papers and Management Cases on the following themes are invited:
1. Rural and Development Finance
Microfinance, Agricultural Finance, Value chain financing, Sustainable/Entrepreneurial Finance, Financial Institutions and Services.
2. Agribusiness
Latest developments in agribusiness and allied areas. Possibilities of Agribusiness dovetailing into development.
3. Rural Marketing and Market development
Critical theory in Marketing, Rural to Urban, Social Marketing, Rural Distribution Systems, Products and Pricing in Rural Contexts, Agriculture Input Marketing, Agriculture Output Marketing, Macro Marketing, Supply and value-chains.
4. Organizational Forms and Design
Exploring the changing organization landscape in rural context like that of cooperatives, producer organizations, not-for-profits, Panchayati Raj Institutions; Behavioural and Structural issues of such organizations and challenges of small organizations.
5. Capabilities and Human resources
HR in resource scarce contexts, Capacity Building, Managing volunteers, Career Planning, Recruitment, Performance Evaluation, Leadership, Changing structure of bureaucracy to implement welfare programme.
6. MIS, ICT and E-governance
MIS in rural and development organizations, ICT and Development, E-Governance.
7. Development Strategy & Policy
Management of Not-for-Profits, organizational planning, Project Management, Corporate Social Responsibility, Programme / Project Implementation, Entrepreneurship, Rural Institutions, Science, technology and innovation and any other relevant topic.
8. Livelihoods Promotion
Livelihoods promotion in the rural and urban context.
9. Economic & Social Perspectives on Development
Economics dimension of development issues and economic policy issues to do with development. Integration of the different social sciences like Sociology, Political Science, History, Anthropology and Psychology and applying that knowledge for the problems of development, Social policy issues to do with development.
10. Rights & Entitlements
Rights based approach to development, Role of Health, Education, Sanitation and related areas in human development.
Submissions:
The papers & cases are expected to follow the APA Or Cambridge style sheet. The papers shall not exceed 6000 words and the cases shall not be more than 5000 words. The papers and cases shall be sent by e-mail to “xsrmconference@xub.edu.in”
