The Chief Justice of India Mr. Tirth Singh Thakur laid the foundation stone of National law University in Himachal Pradesh at Ghandal near Shimla
He said that the proposed National Law University will prove as an asset not only to the law students of Himachal Pradesh but for the students of other states also. He said that it will not only open academic opportunities to the students but boost economic activities in the state.
Sh. Mansoor Ahmad Mir, Hon’ble Chief Justice of H.P. High Court, Sh. Virbhadara Singh, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Himachal Pradesh, Sh. Justice Rajiv Sharma, President, Himachal Pradesh Judicial academy, Hon’ble Sh. Justice Sanjay Karol, Hon’ble Sh. Justice Dhram Chand Chaudhary, Hon’ble Sh. Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan, Hon’ble Sh. Justice P.S. Rana, Hon’ble Sh. Justice Sureshwar Thakur, Hon’ble Sh. Justice Vivek Singh Thakur, Hon’ble Sh. Justice Ajay Mohan Goel, Hon’ble Sh. Justice Sandeep Sharma and Hon’ble Sh. Justice Chander Bhushan Barowalia, were also present on this occasion.
On this occasion Sh. Mansoor Ahmad Mir, Hon’ble Chief Justice of H.P. High Court said that H.P. National University, Shimla will produce outstanding lawyers, Himachal Pradesh Judicial Academy will sharpen the skills of the judicial officers and other stake holders for delivering cheap, quick and effective justice to the people; fulfilling the mandate of the Constitution to secure Justice to all. He further said that judicial education is essential for enhancing the quality and improving the standards of justice.
