The National Law Institute University (NLIU) was founded by the Madhya Pradesh Legislature under Act No. 41 of 1997 to provide modern legal education through multidisciplinary teaching and the transfer of cutting-edge skills. With greater national and humanitarian goals in mind, the University has successfully implanted a feeling of social responsibility as well as scholastic and reflective qualities.

In 2008, the CBCL was founded as a “Centre for Excellence” to raise awareness and enable research in the field of Indian corporate and commercial law. Since its inception, CBCL has produced a large body of research that has contributed to the country’s legal discourse on corporate and commercial law. Through its numerous projects, the Centre equips students with the tools they need to extend their perspectives and build a solid basis for a career as a lawyer. The NLIU-Trilegal Summit on Corporate and Commercial Laws, the NLIU-Khaitan & Co. Workshop on Corporate Laws, and The CBCL Blog are just a few of our signature programmes.
