  • The Information Technology industry in India plays a vital role in its economic wellbeing and is one of the fastest growing sectors in the country. The term is generally used to refer to a variety of areas and the expansiveness of the domain also presents a plethora of challenges in the event of disputes.
  • Thus, the RGNUL–SAM Conclave on Practical Aspects of Information Technology Litigation & Data Protection in India 2022 aims to initiate a discourse on the pressing and contemporary issues in the Information Technology sector, with a particular focus on understanding the disputes that emerge in India.
  • The Conclave consists of two sessions: Expert Discussion and Paper Presentation Session.

  • The Editorial Board of RFMLR invites law students, academicians, and practioners to submit research papers under the below-mentioned theme to contribute to the discourse around the practical issues in Information Technology Litigation & Data Protection in India.
  • After reviewing all the manuscripts, the Editorial Board will shortlist entries whose authors will be invited to present their research before the experts from SAM & Co on the day of the Conclave.
  • Among all the papers presented in the Conclave, the top three will be awarded Certificates of Merit. The author(s) of the top entry will be rewarded with internship(s) at SAM & Co. and a cash prize of INR 10,000.
  • All the other entries selected for presentation will be awarded Certificates of Participation. After a comprehensive review of the papers shortlisted for presentation, the Editorial Board will publish the compilation of the best entries among them.

Expert Discussion

  • The next segment of the Conclave would be an Expert Panel Discussion, where professionals from SAM & Co and other experts would discuss issues pertaining to Practical Aspects in Information Technology Litigation and Data Protection in India.
  • They welcome academicians, legal practitioners, and law students to attend the Expert Panel Discussion. This would not only give the attendees insights into the vital issues in this field, but also give them a unique opportunity to interact with the experts from the field.

The Conclave aims to address issues specifically related to practical issues in Practical Aspects in Information Technology Litigation and Data Protection in India.

Therefore, the above-mentioned sub-themes are exhaustive in nature and the authors should submit papers only on the topics falling within these sub-themes.

Note: The authors may opt to write on any other topic apart from the abovementioned sub-themes, provided that it falls under the ambit of Practical Aspects in Information Technology Litigation and Data Protection in India.

Such authors shall submit a Research Proposal (800-1000 words) to the Editorial Board explaining the research objective and highlighting the key issues and arguments of the proposed paper. The Research Proposals shall be sent for approval to the Editorial Board at submissions_rfmlr@rgnul.ac.in by March 31, 2022.

The Editorial Board would communicate its decision within 3-5 days of the submission of the proposal. Unless expressly approved by the Editorial Board, any submission outside the scope of the abovementioned sub-themes will not be considered.

Submission Rules

The author(s) shall submit the manuscript along with the duly signed Certificate of Originality and Copyright (in the attached format) via this form latest by April 15, 2022.

  • Deadline for Submission of Manuscripts: April 15, 2022
  • Intimation to Authors of Entries Shortlisted for Paper Presentation: April 22, 2022
  • Deadline for Registration for Expert Panel Discussion: April 20, 2022
  • Date of the Conclave will be intimated soon
  • Publication of Selected Entries: June 2022
