International Law in Action: Fundamentals and Beyond’ is an online certificate course of 16 hours (equivalent to 1 Academic credit) organized by the GNLU-ILSA Chapter. It aims to acquaint one with the basics of International Law and help the learner apply the principles and concepts of International Law to contemporary legal issues and developments.
The course takes a practical approach and lingers on increasingly relevant issues such as bio-weaponry, International dispute settlement, nuclear weaponry, etc. and their relationship with international laws and treaties and relies on objective discussions, case studies, and the faculty’s own experiences in International law to develop a practical understanding of key concepts in International law that the learner can then build upon.

About the Resourse Person
Ms. Shriya Maini
- Ms. Shriya Maini is an advocate-on-record at the Supreme Court of India. She specializes in Cross-border dispute resolution civil, criminal, and commercial) and has been accredited with numerous publications in various international journals.
- A postgraduate from the University of Oxford, United Kingdom, and a gold-medalist from Gujarat National Law University, Mr. Shriya Maini has worked in the cabinet of President Judge Theodor Meron, a mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals at The Hague, Netherlands.
- A recipient of the Oxford Global Justice Award for Excellence in Public International Law 2015-16, and DR. Mrs. Abruti Salve Award 2014-15, Mrs. Maini also worked as an associate in the litigation and arbitration team at erstwhile Amarchand & Mangaldas & Suresh A, Shroff.
- Besides currently practicing in the Indian Courts, Ms. Maini serves as a visiting faculty for Criminal Laws, Human Rights, Supreme Court: Practice and Procedure, Women and Child Laws, and International Crimes at National Law University, Delhi, Renaissance Institute of Law, and Lloyd Law College, Noida. She also serves as an external member on the Internal Complaints Committee at Lloyd Law College, Noida.
