About the Journal
The Indian Socio-Legal Journal (ISSN 0970-7972) is an annual journal, a flagship publication of Indian Institute of Comparative Law, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. The journal encourages the publication of national and international interdisciplinary legal issues. The objective of the journal is to provide critical insight into legal issues impacting the society. The authors are encouraged to add to the discourse with a topic of their choice for this issue.
Call for Article
The Editorial Board of Indian Socio-Legal Journal, an International Journal on Legal Philosophy, Law and Society is pleased to invite original unpublished research articles, Case notes, Legislative comments, book reviews, for publication in the upcoming year-2023, XLIX(49th) issue of the Journal from academicians, legal professionals, judicial officers and research scholars all over the country.
The submissions may fall under the following categories (the word limits are exclusive of footnotes):
• Research Articles: 15000-20000 words. (These are critical evaluations of specific contemporary legal issues. The assessment of contemporary legal issues shall be appreciated, though not mandatory).
• Case notes/Legislative comments: 4000-5000 words. (Examination of the impact of contemporary judgments and legislations).
• Book Reviews: 3000-4000 words. (It involves the innovative evaluations of present literature/books).
General Guidelines
· All submitted manuscripts shall be original and non-plagiarised. They should exhibit originality in thought, critical evaluation, and careful interpretations. Any form of plagiarism would lead to immediate rejection of the submission. The authors need to submit antiplagiarism report (Turnitin-below 09 % similarity index) along with the articles/case comment/book review at the time of submission the same.
· Submission of a draft shall be taken to imply that it is an unpublished work and is not being considered for publication elsewhere. Once a manuscript has been selected for publication or has been published in the Journal, the author(s) must seek permission from the Editor before publishing it elsewhere.
· The contents should in no way, directly or indirectly, indicate or reference the identity of the author(s).
· The author(s) must send in the cover letter in the body of the mail ( ), which must contain all the relevant biographical details (Name of the author(s), their qualifications, Designation, Name of College/University/Institution/Organisation, Postal Address(es), Phone Number and E-mail ID). The mail should indicate the category that the submission is intended for, i.e., Research Article/ Case Comment/Legislative Comment/Book Review.
· A maximum of two members is allowed as authors. However, co-authorship is not allowed in “book reviews” and “case notes/comments”.
· Editor-in-Chief decision shall be final and binding. They reserve the sole rights to the publication of the selected articles in addition to, inter alia, any edits/amends/reproduction.
· After review, manuscripts may be returned to authors suggesting changes to content, style or structure. Acceptance of the draft for publication may be made contingent upon incorporating the suggestions.
· The contributions presented to and accepted for publication and the copyrights therein shall be the intellectual property of the Journal Committee.

How to Submit ?
• The author(s) are required to email the manuscript in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format to kbagrawal09@rediffmail.com
• The attached submission in the email, i.e., the name of the document must be the name(s) of the author(s).
Subject of the mail:
• The subject for the mail must be ‘Submission for Indian Socio-Legal Journal” (Research Article/Case Comment/Legislative Comment/Book Review) and email must be addressed to the “Editor”.
• Only one submission per author or a team of co-authors is permissible in Research Article only. In case of more than one submission, only the one received first would be considered for review.
• A mail confirming the receipt of the manuscript and subsequently its acceptance for publication would be duly conveyed to the author/s through the email id used by the author/s for correspondence.
Submission Deadline and Review Process
• Deadline: 30th, March 2023, before 11:59 pm.
• Blind Peer Review: There shall be a rigorous review process comprising 2 stages. The authors shall be intimated about the status of their manuscript at every stage.
· Soft copy of the journal will be provided to the authors after completion of the process.
· No publication fee will be charged from the authors.
