What Is The Opportunity?

We extend a cordial invitation to legal scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to contribute to an upcoming edited book that scrutinizes the recent legislative endeavours of the Indian Parliament. Specifically, this edited volume will focus on the repeal of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) 1860. This statute is poised to be supplanted by the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. This volume endeavours to engage with the legal community in a nuanced exploration of the legal, procedural, and socio-political implications ensuing from these transformative legislative reforms.

This edited volume endeavours to serve as a seminal repository of scholarly inquiry into the repeal and replacement of the IPC (Bhartiya Dand Sanhita) and the proposed enactment of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita in India. By fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and scholarly engagement, this volume aims to enrich understanding of the legal, procedural, and socio-political ramifications intrinsic to these legislative reforms.
