The Book On ‘Journalism, Press & Media Law’ aims to function as a consolidated repository of significant media issues in the contemporary era and the legal issues associated with them. With efforts from Professionals, Educators, Scholars and Students from around the world, the book shall provide a holistic global outlook on emerging trends in media rights.

What Are The Details Of The Opportunity:

  • Title: Journalism, Press & Media Law
  • Objectives: to conduct a critical analysis of contemporary issues related to Journalism and Media Laws and propose practical solutions. Specifically, the book seeks to achieve the following objectives:
    • Identify and understand potential concerns related to Journalism and Media Laws.
    • Evaluate patterns and trends and search for feasible solutions.
    • Anticipate future developments in global Journalism and media landscape.
    • Through this approach, the book endeavors to provide valuable insights for professionals, academics, students, and anyone interested in the field of Journalism and Media Laws.
  • Submission Process: CLICK HERE To Submit Your Chapters. Submission will be based on the Review Committee’s Feedback. Publication will be done by a reputed National/International Publisher.
  • Word Limit: 5000-8000 words.
  • Last date to submit chapters: 10th June 2023
  • Submission Fee: NIL
  • Eligibility & Guidelines:
    • Upto two authors are allowed for a chapter.
    • The manuscripts should be plagiarism free. A similarity of maximum 10 percent is allowed.
    • Publication of the chapter shall be subject to the review of the Editorial Committee of the Book.
    • Uniform citation of the American Psychological Association (APA) should be followed.
  • Important Dates:
    • Peer – Review by: 20th June, 2023
    • Submission of Final Paper (If Required, after Peer Review): 25th June, 2023
    • Tentative Publication of Book: Last week of September 2023.

  • The Editors:
    • Prof (Dr) Lalit Kumar Deb: Dean at Birla School of Law, Birla Global University. He has a teaching experience of about 36 years.  He worked as a Professor and Head of the Under Graduate Legal Studies at Maharastra National Law University, Mumbai. He has also served as the Principal, Lingaraj Law College, Berhampur. After completing his Masters with a specialization in International Law from Andhra University, Prof. Deb worked as an advocate for a few years. As an academician, he has served at the premier Lingaraj Law College, Berhampur University for thirty-two years. In 1991 he was appointed as Reader cum Principal of Lingaraj Law College. Prof Deb has also been a member of the Juvenile Justice Board, Ganjam district of Odisha for two terms.
    • Mr. Prithivi Raj: He is a Lawyer turned Academician. He is currently working as an Assistant Professor of Law at Birla Global University, Odisha. He has also served as Assistant Professor of Law at SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Hyderabad Campus and ICFAI University. He had more than seven years of experience as a practicing Advocate. He has represented various Public Sector Units (PSUs) of the Central Government & State Governments in Labour, Service & Industrial Matters. He was also elected as an Executive Member of the High Court Bar Association, Odisha. He is currently a member of The Law Society, United Kingdom; International Society for Development and Sustainability, Japan; and European Society of International Law, Italy. He is an alumnus of Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Patiala, Punjab.
    • Mr. Soubhagya Sundar Nanda: Presently working as an Assistant Professor of Law at Birla Global University, Odisha. Previously he was working as a Research Associate-cum-Teaching Assistant at National Law University, Odisha. He has also worked as a Research Associate in the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) project titled ‘Exploring Changing Dynamics of Children’s Laws in India in the Post-Liberalisation era’ and also as a Researcher in the project titled ‘Effective Disposal of Cases in Juvenile Justice Board of Odisha conducted by Centre for Child Rights, NLU Odisha. Mr. Soubhagya Sundar Nanda has completed his Bachelor’s Degree in law (B.A.LL.B (Hons.) from Madhusudan Law College, Cuttack and Master’s Degree in law (LL.M.) from National Law School of India University, Bangalore with Human Rights as his area of specialisation. After completing his Bachelor’s degree in law, Mr. Nanda enrolled with the Odisha State Bar Council and practiced in the High Court of Orissa. His interest areas include Constitutional law and Human Rights.
    • Mr. Swagat Dash: An Assistant Professor of Law at Birla Global University, located in Bhubaneswar, India. He has a background in both legal practice and academia. Before joining the field of academics, he worked as a lawyer in the General Corporate/M&A practice area at Trilegal, a prominent law firm. He completed his undergraduate studies at the National Law University in Delhi, where he obtained a B.A. LL.B (Hons.) degree in 2020. After his undergraduate studies,he pursued further education and obtained an LL.M. degree from Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur, in 2022.
