In India’s history, the biodiversity-rich North-East has long been a mysterious absence. These socio-economic, cultural, and traditional nuances of this region, which are regarded marginal, have received far less attention than they deserve. However, time passes, and its status as terra incognita shifts as well. Several pieces of literature from other disciplines have begun to emphasise its environmental significance as well as the associated issues.
This unknown melting pot of biological and natural resources-rich region has lately gotten a lot of attention in the legal literature, but there’s still a lot of work to be done.
Book Chapters are being sought.
- To fill this void, the torch-bearing first National Law University of North-East India plans to publish a scholarly book highlighting some of the existing and emerging challenges relating to the enviro-legal aspects of the management and sustainable utilisation of its natural and biological resources.
- This project could include chapters written by jurists, academics, law practitioners, research scholars, and students.
- In the year 2022, the planned book will be published by a reputable worldwide or national publisher with ISBN.
