About CBCL

The Centre for Business and Commercial Laws (CBCL) was established in 2008 at the National Law Institute University, Bhopal (NLIU) as a ‘Centre of Excellence’, with the aim of generating awareness and facilitating research in the field of business and commercial laws.

CBCL has taken pride in its various collaborations over the years. One such collaboration is the NLIU-Trilegal Summit on Corporate and Commercial Laws which focusses on key issues pertaining to corporate law and witnesses submissions and participation by law students from across the country.

CBCL is also in collaboration with Khaitan& Co. in conducting an annual Workshop on Corporate laws. Recently, CBCL also launched the Journal for Business Laws, or the NLIU-JBL, a peer reviewed business law journal which aims to create meaningful debate and discourse in the field of business laws and study the dynamic confluence of the academic and transactional world through the same. Its first volume was successfully launched in 2019.

With the experience accrued from the aforementioned initiatives and events, the CBCL seeks to provide avenues for students to explore the realm of business and corporate laws, and proceed towards building the foundation of a successful practitioner in the field of commercial and business laws.
