Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University (RMLNLU) is a public law school and a National Law University located in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was established as Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law Institute in 2005, and since then, has been providing undergraduate and post-graduate legal education.

- Commentary and opinion pieces on legal policy issues:
- Word limit: 1000-1500 words
- Contextualise the issue and ensure your arguments are backed by evidence and research
- Clearly state your position/argument upfront and then build the argument

- Historical analyses of laws, institutions, people, and/or events:
- Word limit: 1000-1500 words
- Contextualise the law/institution/person/event and underscore why it is an important point of discussion
- Feel free to draw parallelisms between historical and contemporary events to establish contemporary relevance
- Enlivening the piece through the use of anecdotal evidence and qualitatively rich narrative stories encouraged
- Sample
- Book and film reviews:
- Word limit: 800-1000 words
- Critically analyse and engage with the author/director’s work. What stood out for you? What didn’t? What could have been done differently?
- While an analysis of the style (writing style, directorial style, etc.) is welcome, the focus should be on the legal argument(s) ensconced within the book/film
Submission Guidelines
- A blog post should have a clear angle and central argument
- It must be backed by evidence and analysis
- For visual ease, subheadings are necessary
- Short paragraphs are preferred
- A catchy heading and sub-heading are required
- Footnotes are not allowed in a blog; all references must be hyperlinked
- All technical terms and acronyms must be explained for a lay audience
- Use of active voice is encouraged; the blog must have one voice throughout.
- Graphs and images to be used where possible, all sources to be hyperlinked
